# How to Migrate From Jobber to FieldPulse

> Move your scheduling, dispatch, estimates, invoices, and recurring jobs from Jobber to FieldPulse, with a full terminology map and setup steps.

> **Who uses this:** Admins — importing data and recreating settings during a migration require admin access. **Availability:** All regions.

Migrating from Jobber to FieldPulse is mostly learning the new names and recreating your setup once. FieldPulse covers the same core workflows you rely on in Jobber — [scheduling and dispatching](https://www.fieldpulse.com/features/scheduling-and-dispatching), [estimates and invoices](https://www.fieldpulse.com/features/estimates-and-invoices), [payments](https://www.fieldpulse.com/features/fieldpulse-payments), and recurring jobs — so this guide maps the terminology and walks you through the move step by step.

## Overview

The Jobber to FieldPulse migration has three parts: import your existing data (customers and items), recreate your account setup (settings and workflows), and learn where each day-to-day task lives in FieldPulse. The terms and navigation differ in a few key areas, but the concepts map directly, as the terminology reference below shows in full. Plan on recreating your settings once rather than transferring them, because FieldPulse imports your data from spreadsheet templates rather than through a direct Jobber connection.

## Before you begin

* **Export from Jobber.** Export your client list and your Products & Services catalog to Excel, Google Sheets, or CSV, and keep your open jobs, quotes, and recurring jobs accessible for reference during setup. The exact export steps vary by Jobber plan.

* **Prep for import.** FieldPulse brings your data in with its own import tools rather than a direct Jobber connection. Review [How to Import Data into FieldPulse](/settings/data/importing-data) and [How to Import Customers](/settings/data/importing-customers) before you start.

* **New to FieldPulse?** Start with [Welcome to FieldPulse](/getting-started/welcome/overview) for an orientation to the platform.

## Terminology reference

## Import your customers and items

Bring your customer base and item catalog into FieldPulse with the import tools before you start creating jobs.

1. **Import your client list.** Follow [How to Import Customers](/settings/data/importing-customers) to download the mass import template, fill it in from your Jobber client export, verify the records, and upload. Jobber Clients become Customers in FieldPulse.

2. **Import your items.** Build your Item List by importing your Jobber Products & Services with the item import template. Follow [How to Import Your Item List](/settings/data/importing-item-list).

<Note>
  If you sync FieldPulse with QuickBooks, do not import customers or items — the sync brings both your customers and your items into FieldPulse automatically.
</Note>

## Recreate your account setup

These are the settings you configured in Jobber that need to be set up in FieldPulse before you go live.

1. Enter your company information in **Company Settings > General** (name, logo, contact information).

2. Set a default tax rate in **Company Settings > Estimates & Invoices > General**, or enable automatic tax rates in **Company Settings > Features & Plug-Ins**.

3. Create an estimate template from the **Estimates** tab under Sales — select **Templates > New Estimate**.

4. Toggle **Save as Template** on before you save the estimate.

5. Create an invoice template from the **Invoices** tab under Sales — select **Templates > New Invoice**.

6. Toggle **Save as Template** on before you save the invoice.

7. Recreate your custom status workflow in **Company Settings > Jobs > Custom Status** to match your Jobber setup. Statuses can trigger automatic time tracking and customer notifications.

8. Configure user roles and permissions in **Company Settings > User Accounts** — the Fieldworker role in Jobber maps to Service Agent in FieldPulse.

9. Enable payment processing in **Company Settings > Features & Plug-Ins > FieldPulse Payments** and start your application.

10. Enable the Customer Portal in **Company Settings > Features & Plug-Ins > Customer Portal** — the equivalent of Jobber's Client Hub, where customers can view jobs and pay invoices online.

11. Enable the Booking Portal in **Company Settings > Features & Plug-Ins > Booking Portal** — the equivalent of Jobber's Online Booking, which generates an embeddable booking link for your website.

## Create and dispatch a job

Create a job the way you created a job in Jobber, then dispatch it from the Schedule.

1. Go to **Jobs > Create Job** and select an existing customer, or create one from here if they do not exist yet.

2. Fill in the job title, assign a user or team, and set a date and time. Use **Find Availability** to see open time slots across your team before you commit to a time.

3. Save the job. It appears on the Schedule page for the assigned technician.

To add a second visit to the same job without creating a new record, open the job and add a **Site Visit** — the equivalent of adding a Visit in Jobber. See [How to Add Site Visits](/jobs/jobs-tasks/site-visits).

<Note>
  For the full job workflow, see [How to Create a Job](/jobs/jobs-tasks/creating-a-job).
</Note>

## Send an estimate

Jobber calls these Quotes; in FieldPulse you choose whether they are labeled Estimate, Quote, Bid, or Proposal.

1. Open the customer record or job record, go to the **Estimates** tab, and select **New Estimate**.

2. Add line items from your Item List — the equivalent of Jobber's Products & Services catalog.

3. To give the customer multiple pricing options, add **Estimate Options**. For upsells the customer can choose themselves, use **Add-On Options** — these replace Jobber's optional line items on quotes.

4. Send the estimate by email. Your customer receives a link to view and approve it, and the estimate status updates to Accepted automatically when they approve.

To turn an approved estimate into an invoice, open the estimate and select **Convert to Invoice**.

</Frame>

<Note>
  For the full estimate workflow, see [How to Create an Estimate](/estimates-invoices/creating/estimate).
</Note>

## Collect payment

Collect payment on a finalized invoice, in person or by sending a payment request.

1. Open the invoice and select **Finalize Invoice** to move it out of Draft status.

2. To collect payment immediately, select **Payment** and choose card, ACH, cash, or check.

3. To request payment from your customer, select the green **Actions** button and then **Send To Customer**. With FieldPulse Payments, you can include a payment request with the invoice, and your customer receives an email with a link to pay online.

To collect a deposit before work begins, set the percentage or fixed amount you need before collecting payment or sending a payment request.

  For every way to collect payment, see [How to Collect Payments: 3 Methods](/payments/collecting/collecting-payments-3-methods).

## On mobile

The FieldPulse mobile app is available on iOS and Android. Here is what changes for technicians coming from Jobber.

| **Task** | **In the FieldPulse mobile app** |
| ---------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Update a job status | Tap the job and select the next step in the workflow — this is how time tracking and Customer Communications are triggered, replacing Jobber's timer-based approach. |
| Log time manually | Technicians clock in and out using Timesheets. |
| Add photos and notes | Open the job and use the **Notes** or **Files** sections. |
| Collect payment in the field | Open the invoice from the job and tap **Payment**. |

FieldPulse works offline. The app switches to [Offline Mode Overview](/troubleshooting/offline-mode/offline-mode) automatically when signal is lost and syncs everything once the connection is restored.

## FAQs

### Can I run Jobber and FieldPulse at the same time during the switch?

Yes. Many teams keep Jobber open for reference and stop entering new work in it once FieldPulse setup is complete and the data import is verified. For help sequencing a go-live, contact the FieldPulse support team.

### Does my data transfer automatically from Jobber?

No. FieldPulse imports your clients and items from spreadsheet templates rather than through a direct Jobber connection. See [How to Import Data into FieldPulse](/settings/data/importing-data).

## Still need help?
