# Jobs & Projects Offline Mode Details

> See what your team can do with jobs and projects in the FieldPulse mobile app with no signal, what's cached, and how offline changes sync back.

> **Who uses this:** Admins, Team Managers, and Service Agents — the roles offline mode is available to. **Availability:** FieldPulse mobile app only · All regions.

Service work does not stop when the signal does — basements, mechanical rooms, and rural routes all drop connection. The [FieldPulse mobile app](https://www.fieldpulse.com/features/mobile-app) switches to offline mode on its own when it loses its internet connection or the device goes into Airplane Mode, so your team keeps working the [jobs](https://www.fieldpulse.com/features/job-management) and projects already cached on the device. Everything entered offline is held on the device and syncs to your FieldPulse account once it reconnects.

## Overview

Offline mode gives your team a cached set of recent jobs and projects to open and edit, along with the customer records tied to them. Jobs and projects are each cached for 1 week, and what your team can do differs by record type — a cached job supports notes, photos, custom forms, and status changes, while a cached project covers its linked custom forms. New jobs and new projects are created once the device is back online.

## What works offline for jobs

A cached job carries the field workflow — notes, photos, [custom forms](https://www.fieldpulse.com/features/custom-forms), and status changes all work with no connection.

| Change the job's status             | Move the job to a different status in its custom status workflow. |

Creating a new job takes an internet connection — your team creates new jobs once the device is back online.

## What works offline for projects

A cached project opens offline, and the custom forms attached to it are what your team can fill out and edit there.

Creating a new project takes an internet connection — your team creates new projects once the device is back online.

## Customer records cached with jobs and projects

The customers attached to your cached jobs and projects cache alongside them, so your team can open the customer record behind the work order without a signal. Customer records cache automatically when they are tied to your scheduled jobs and projects, and linked customer and job records cache alongside projects.

On those cached customer records, your team can open and edit up to 200 existing custom forms and create new draft custom forms without a limit. New customers are created once the device is back online.

## How offline changes sync

Offline changes sync on their own — nobody has to push them. Anything your team creates or edits on a job, project, or customer record while offline is saved locally on the device, and when the device reconnects to the internet those changes sync to your FieldPulse account automatically.

## Notes & limitations

* Offline mode is available in the FieldPulse mobile app only.

* The mobile app enters offline mode automatically when it loses its internet connection or the device is in Airplane Mode.

* Jobs and projects are cached for 1 week.

* Job photo uploads are capped at 50 at a time.

* Offline access covers up to 200 existing custom forms per record type — jobs, projects, and customers each get their own 200. New form drafts have no cap.

* New jobs, new projects, and new customers are created once the device reconnects.

* Offline changes are stored on the device until it reconnects to the internet.

* Offline mode is available to Admins, Team Managers, and Service Agents.
