Offline mode keeps the FieldPulse mobile app working when your techs lose signal — in a basement, a mechanical room, or out past cell range. The app switches to offline mode on its own when it loses its connection or the device goes into Airplane Mode, saves everything your tech creates or edits locally on the device, and syncs it all back to your account automatically once the device reconnects. No extra steps.

Overview

The workflow breakdown offline mode solves is the dead zone: a tech finishes a job with no signal, the paperwork waits until they drive back into coverage, and the office is left guessing in the meantime. Offline mode closes that gap. While offline, the mobile app gives your team a cached set of recent records to view and edit and lets them create new drafts, then reconciles everything when the signal comes back. This page is the capability reference — the single place to see what works offline across FieldPulse. Each feature’s exact offline behavior also lives on that feature’s own page; those pages are linked under Related articles. A few things hold true everywhere in offline mode:
  • The app switches to offline mode automatically when it loses internet or the device is in Airplane Mode. That includes opening the app for the first time that day without a connection — the app launches directly into offline mode instead of getting stuck loading, so you can keep working right away.
  • Anything created or edited offline is saved locally on the device.
  • Changes sync automatically when the device reconnects — no manual push required.
  • Offline mode is available to Admins, Team Managers, and Service Agents.

What works offline

Support varies by record type. In the table below, Yes means fully supported, Limited means partial support with the caveats noted, and No means the action is not available until you reconnect.

How to open offline mode manually

The app enters offline mode on its own when it loses signal, but you can also open offline mode manually:
  1. In the FieldPulse mobile app, select your profile icon in the top-left corner of the screen.
  2. Select Offline Mode.

Notes & limitations

  • Offline mode is available in the mobile app only.
  • Offline mode is available to Admins, Team Managers, and Service Agents.
  • Cached data is a recent subset, not your whole account — jobs and projects are cached for 1 week, and each record type has its own caps (see the table above).
  • You cannot create new customers, and payment collection is unavailable, until the device reconnects.
  • Everything entered offline syncs automatically once the device is back online; you do not need to push it manually.
