A guide to what the four user roles in FieldPulse mean and how to use them.

There are four types of user roles you can assign to team members on FieldPulse depending on their role in your business.

Administrator

Manager
Service Agent
Assignment Role (free)

Each user role comes with different permissions and capabilities within FieldPulse. You can customise their permissions and what each user will have access to.

Outlined below are the permissions and capabilities for each user role.


Administrator

Admin users have full access to the FieldPulse account. This role is best assigned to the company owner and the office manager.

Full account access

Update and change billing preferences

Update subscription settings

Create and edit customers
Create and edit jobs and subtasks
Create, edit and send estimates and invoices

Create, edit and send purchase orders

View supplier invoices, and connect them to jobs and invoices
View team schedules, status updates and invoices
View all customers
View team member geolocation tags
Track, edit and view team timesheets

Full reporting capabilities

Not seeing the Admin role? 👀

When you go to add a new user, under the 'Role' drop down, you will select 'Team Manager.' You will notice a field to the left appear that says 'Assign as Company Admin.' You will toggle that to the right if you want to assign this user as an admin.


Manager

Managers or 'Team Managers' can create and assign work to their team members. Each 'Team Manager' can be assigned to lead multiple teams.

Create and edit customers
Create and edit jobs and subtasks
Create, edit and send estimates and invoices

Create, edit and send purchase orders

View supplier invoices, and connect them to jobs and invoices
View team schedules, status updates and invoices
View all customers
View team member geolocation tags
Track and view team timesheets

Service Agent

The Service Agent role is designed only to see the work they are assigned. Their permission settings can be adjusted as desired.

Updated assigned jobs and subtasks
Create and send estimates and invoices (if permission is enabled)
Change job status, attach files and add comments
View assigned customer profiles (if permission is enabled)
View invoices from assigned jobs (if permission is enabled)
Track your time and timesheets

Example:

Assignment Role 

Assigned work by managers, for management purposes. Cannot log into app. This is used for managers to be able to see who is assigned to what job.
