Filters narrow a record list down to the records you want to see, so finding one job or one customer does not mean reading past everything else on the list. The filters on offer vary between record types, but the way you apply a filter, save it, and pull it back later is the same wherever you are.

Overview

Filtering answers the long-list problem. When every job or customer sits in one list, finding the handful that need attention today means scanning past the ones that do not. A filter cuts the list to the records that match, and a saved filter brings that same view back without setting every field again. FieldPulse offers filtering on record lists in two places:
  • Show Filters — the filter panel on a record list, covering statuses, method, team member, tags, customer, and custom fields.
  • Filters on the Jobs and Projects tabs — an Apply Filters panel that slides open on the right side of the screen with job- and project-specific options and saved views.

Before you begin

  • The filters you see depend on the record list you are on — a Jobs list offers different options than a Customers list. The steps below cover the filter qualities common across record types, plus the Jobs and Projects panel.

On web

Filter a record list

  1. Open the record list you want to filter, then select Show Filters above the list. The Jobs list with the Show Filters button highlighted between the Search for job box and the Expand Fields button
  2. Under Status, select the statuses you want to include. Under Method, choose Active or Archived.
  3. Search for and select the other fields you want to filter on, such as Team Member, Tags, and Customer.

Filter by custom fields

  1. Under Custom Field, select the custom field you want to filter on.
  2. Under Custom Field Value, type the contents you want to filter by. Only results that have those contents are shown.
  3. Select Add Custom Field.
  4. Repeat with more custom fields until the list is filtered the way you want.

Save a filter and reuse it

  1. With your filters selected, type a name in the Filter Label box under Save above selection as a Filter.
  2. Select Save Filter. The bottom of the filter panel with the Save above selection as a Filter section highlighted, showing the Filter Label box and the Save Filter button
  3. To use a saved filter again, select it under My Filters at the top of the filter panel. Select the trashcan on a saved filter to delete it.
The Customers list with the filter panel open and the My Filters section highlighted, showing a saved My Customers filter above the Method, Team Member, Custom Field, and Tags fields

Filter the Jobs and Projects lists

  1. Go to the Jobs or Projects tab.
  2. Select Filters. The Apply Filters panel slides open on the right side of your screen. The Jobs list with the Filters button highlighted and the Apply Filters panel open on the right showing the Status, Tags, Job Title Contains, Assigned Team(s), Assigned Team Member(s), Customer, and Invoice Status fields
  3. Set any of these filters:
  4. Select Apply Filters. The Job or Project list updates to match.

Save a filtered view

  1. With your filters set, select Save Filters As New View. The bottom of the Apply Filters panel with the Save Filters As New View button highlighted, next to the Apply Filters button and the Clear All link
  2. Name the new filtered view something you will recognize later.
The saved view appears as a pinned tab at the top of your Jobs or Projects page. That gives you one-click access to the same filtered list, so you do not have to set each filter again every time you want those results.

Manage your saved views

  1. On the Jobs or Projects page, select the Manage Views subtab.
The Jobs page tab bar with the Manage Views subtab highlighted at the end of the row of saved view tabs, above the Search for job box and the Filters button The My Saved Views panel opens. From here you can:
  • Adjust the order of your filtered view tabs.
  • Rename a saved view for easier identification.
  • Delete a saved view you no longer need.

Still need help?

Reach the FieldPulse support team at support@fieldpulse.com or through the chat feature in the bottom-right corner of your screen. Your filtering is working when the list holds only the records that match what you selected, and the same view comes back in one click — under My Filters on a record list, or as a pinned tab on your Jobs or Projects page.
